Attributes

Attribute	Required	Description
`data-story`	yes	Slug of the manifest the claim appears in. Used to fetch `/stories/<slug>.json`.
`data-claim`	yes	Claim ID. Must appear in the manifest's `claims`, `highlights`, or `featured_claims` array.

Below is the widget loaded against a placeholder manifest slug. If the manifest JSON isn't live yet, it gracefully degrades to a “Loading…” card with a link to hangingcontext.com.

Notes

The widget respects prefers-color-scheme — it renders dark on dark hosts automatically.
Uses fetch({ cache: "force-cache" }) so repeat views on the same page are instant.
Zero runtime dependencies. About 6 KB minified, 2 KB gzipped.
