## Key facts

- Dineo Credito, a Spanish microlender in the Cash Converters group that has helped 1.2 million borrowers, is migrating from its in-house core system to Mambu. (self-reported) [cites: 1792915605482679680]
- BridgeFund, an Amsterdam challenger SME lender, chose Mambu after running an in-house-built core, and launched its deposit platform on Mambu in six months. (self-reported) [cites: 1792915605482426882]
- Onfleet argues growing companies should move away from in-house delivery software when delivery infrastructure is not a core competency, citing faster market launches for customers that switched. (self-reported) [cites: 1792923517317426184]

## Three lenders, one decision

League Data, the technology partner for Atlantic credit unions, has converted a credit union to the Mambu cloud-based banking platform, a first for the Canadian financial industry, according to Mambu. The context is a deadline: the legacy core banking system for Atlantic credit unions is approaching end of life in 2025, and League Data's stated goal is to migrate every credit union in the Atlantic Credit Union System to the new platform, which Mambu says will let credit unions scale deposits and lending offerings and roll out products quickly. [cites: 1792915605482889774]

In Spain, Dineo Credito is making the same move from the other side of the market. The Spanish microlender, part of the Cash Converters group, is migrating from its in-house core system to Mambu, where it plans to launch lending products for its growing customer base in Spain. Dineo Credito has helped 1.2 million borrowers, operates in Spain and Portugal, and aims on Mambu to expand its lending portfolio to more traditional products with higher loan amounts and longer terms, while staying ahead of an evolving regulatory landscape. [cites: 1792915605482679680]

BridgeFund, a challenger SME lender based in Amsterdam, previously ran an in-house-built core banking system before choosing Mambu to free up resources and focus on innovation rather than maintaining legacy infrastructure. Since it was founded, BridgeFund has issued over 6,500 loans worth more than 300 million euros, launched its deposit platform on Mambu in six months, and is now working on integrating its lending platform, with an aim to expand account volumes, product offerings, and new markets. ## Why now

The three moves share a trigger: the in-house system stopped being an asset and started being a constraint. League Data faced an end-of-life legacy core, Dineo Credito sought a partner to co-create its product roadmap and support its digital transformation more efficiently, and BridgeFund needed a platform that could scale with the volume of its current products. In each case the vendor's pitch is speed to new products, not just lower maintenance. [cites: 1792915605482889774, 1792915605482679680, 1792915605482426882]

The market framing around BridgeFund shows why SME lending is the test case. Mambu research cited by the company identifies a 5.2 trillion euro SME lending opportunity and reports that more than two thirds of SMEs globally, 67 percent, have been unable to secure sufficient or any funding on at least one occasion. The Netherlands is the second largest market for alternative financing in Europe after the United Kingdom, according to the same account, which makes a fast deposit-and-lending launch a competitive question rather than a back-office one. [cites: 1792915605482426882]

Mambu's scale claim frames the vendor side: the company says it supports 280 customers in over 65 countries, and Dineo Credito joins other Southern European institutions running on Mambu, including Plazo and Universo Sonae. A platform with that footprint can sell the same migration three times in three markets, which is itself a signal about where mid-market banking infrastructure is consolidating. ## The same call in delivery

Onfleet makes the parallel argument for delivery operations: a growing company should move away from in-house delivery software when delivery infrastructure is not its core competency, because each new market, delivery partner, or jump in volume requires new engineering work. Building in-house also carries ongoing maintenance, security reviews, and support for the life of the system, costs that persist long after the first launch. [cites: 1792923517317426184]

Onfleet's customer examples put numbers on the switch. Inspired Go now launches new markets in one to two weeks and handles close to 10,000 deliveries on peak days, Logiscal grew from roughly 16,000 to 20,000 monthly deliveries to more than 75,000 on Onfleet, and Dulux Decorator Centre went live across all 230-plus stores within six months. Onfleet says it has powered more than 400 million deliveries and offers access to more than 150 vetted couriers through Onfleet Connect. [cites: 1792923517317426184]

The advice in both sectors has the same shape: keep in-house work for what is genuinely distinctive, and buy the plumbing. Onfleet's version is to retain in-house tools for unique business functions such as loyalty programs or reporting while offloading routing and dispatch to specialized platforms via APIs. For lenders, the equivalent is keeping the credit judgment and customer relationship while letting a cloud core carry deposits, lending, and product rollout. [cites: 1792923517317426184]

## What is still unresolved

- How many Atlantic credit unions complete migration and on what timetable
- Whether Dineo Credito's traditional lending expansion changes its borrower mix
- Whether bought cores reduce time-to-market for smaller lenders as claimed

## Decision card

- **Useful for:** Evaluating core replacement versus in-house rebuilds; Benchmarking launch timelines for deposits and lending
- **Not for:** Judging a vendor from its own customer announcements alone; Pricing a core migration without a conversion plan
- **Compare against:** Mambu customer announcements in Canada, Spain, and the Netherlands; Onfleet build-versus-buy cases
