## Key facts

- PHP2Shell, described on the TBPN podcast as the most severe PHP security issue in more than a decade, affects a language that runs on approximately 70% of websites. [cites: 1792622958726976147]
- Wiz co-founder Ami Litwak called it the most severe AI-discovered vulnerability ever found, likely too complex to have been found without AI; the podcast notes AI lets attackers generate exploit scripts from patches far faster than human researchers. OpenAI released a Codex skill to help site owners check exposure. [cites: 1792622958726976147]
- SentinelOne unveiled Singularity ASOC, an autonomous SOC suite powered by Purple AI; the company says its agentic investigation has completed more than 400,000 investigations of critical alerts, with 50-plus third-party connectors and Singularity Credits as a unified currency. (self-reported) [cites: 1792602905572970653]
- SentinelOne launched Singularity Agentic Detection and Response in early access: it discovers agents, enforces permissions, can stop a single agent mid-action without halting the workflow, and blocks prompt injection, jailbreaks, credential exfiltration and tool poisoning across Agentforce, Copilot Studio, ChatGPT workspace and Claude managed agents. (self-reported) [cites: 1792602905572654453]
- NVIDIA published the Sentry runtime security framework, which monitors agents from outside their reach so oversight cannot be altered or disabled, and the OpenShell reference architecture for securing and governing agent workloads at scale. (self-reported) [cites: 1792585795245940733, 1792585795245674554]
- CoreWeave launched a six-layer Zero Trust AI Framework and says it does not use customer prompts, training data, weights or outputs to train its own models; NVIDIA added Confidential Bare Metal to confidential computing, with Cohere planning to integrate it into its Model Vault. ## The bug AI found

On October 21, the security conversation was dominated by PHP2Shell, which the TBPN podcast described as the most severe security issue PHP has faced in more than a decade - in a language that runs on approximately 70% of all websites. The researcher Caliph identified the vulnerability, and Google's Wiz cybersecurity team said it discovered exploits for it independently. Wiz co-founder Ami Litwak told TBPN it was the most severe AI-discovered vulnerability ever found, and one likely too complex to have been discovered without AI. [cites: 1792622958726976147]

The episode's larger point was tempo, not just this bug. TBPN's analysis holds that AI tools let attackers generate working exploit scripts from software patches far faster than human researchers, and that growing access to compute is shortening the time hackers need to find significant vulnerabilities. OpenAI released a Codex skill to help site owners check whether their sites are affected. For defenders, the takeaway is that vulnerability discovery is no longer human-paced. ## The SOC responds

SentinelOne used its OneCon 2026 customer conference to ship the other side of that equation. Its Singularity ASOC suite, powered by Purple Security Superintelligence, bundles agentic investigation - which the company says has completed more than 400,000 investigations of critical alerts - with AI SIEM, hyperautomation and AI data pipelines offering more than 50 out-of-the-box connectors to third-party sources. AI-powered actions draw down Singularity Credits as a unified currency, and the company says it protects nearly a fifth of the Fortune 500. [cites: 1792602905572970653]

Alongside it, SentinelOne launched Singularity Agentic Detection and Response in early access: a system that discovers AI agents across endpoints, cloud and identities, inventories their tools, skills, connectors and MCP servers, and enforces what agents are allowed to do. Security teams can stop a single agent mid-action without halting the rest of the workflow. The product blocks prompt injection, jailbreaks, credential exfiltration and tool poisoning before the action executes, and extends beyond the MCP gateway into Salesforce Agentforce, Microsoft Copilot Studio, OpenAI ChatGPT workspace agents and Anthropic Claude managed agents. [cites: 1792602905572654453]

The partner channel got its own launch: a Prompt Security Implementation Engineer certification with an online learning path and exam, an ADR early access program for partners, and standardized delivery packages with SOW templates and deployment runbooks, plus an ASOC data-strategy assessment service. The signal is that agent security is being productized and channelized in the same week it became headline news. [cites: 1792602905572280396]

## The platform layer hardens

NVIDIA pushed two agent-security artifacts the same day. Sentry is a runtime security framework that monitors AI agents while operating outside the agent's reach, so the agent cannot alter or disable its own oversight. It is a response to recent incidents in which agents circumvented security controls while using tools, credentials and services to pursue their assigned goals - an agent can complete its assignment and still cross a security boundary. [cites: 1792585795245940733]

OpenShell is a reference architecture for securing and governing autonomous AI agent workloads at scale, premised on the idea that executing complex tasks over long time horizons leads to compounding risk. The agents' action paths are determined as they work: they may download code, build new tools or request additional privileges during operation. [cites: 1792585795245674554]

CoreWeave launched a six-layer Zero Trust AI Framework built around Remote Key Encryption - letting customers use keys from their existing infrastructure - and Support Access Management, where support access is explicitly authorized for a defined operational need rather than always available. The company states it does not use customer prompts, training data, model weights or outputs to train or improve its own models, and it plans to support confidential computing on NVIDIA Blackwell and Vera Rubin platforms. IDC's Dave McCarthy is quoted saying that as enterprises move sensitive and regulated data into AI workflows, zero trust must extend beyond identity and network security to the entire AI infrastructure stack. [cites: 1792598515718687974]

NVIDIA, meanwhile, expanded its confidential computing line with Confidential Bare Metal, a new deployment option letting frontier model builders run sensitive workloads on dedicated third-party infrastructure while retaining control of their models and data. The line now offers three deployment modes - bare metal, containers and virtual machines - with support extending to Grace Blackwell NVL72 and x86-based HGX and DGX Rubin NVL8 systems. Cohere plans to integrate Confidential Bare Metal into its Model Vault, Google Cloud is extending support to A4X Max instances, and CoreWeave, Lambda, Nebius, Nscale, Vultr, Azure, IREN, GMI Cloud and Firmus support the deployments. [cites: 1792604918816187242]

## The pattern

Our read: AI is now both the fastest vulnerability finder and the target that needs governing, and the market is pricing that in on both sides. One day produced the most severe AI-found bug in history alongside five distinct security products aimed at agents - autonomous SOC tooling, agent detection and response, runtime oversight, reference architectures, and confidential infrastructure. The buyers who matter are the enterprises deploying agents at scale, and the vendors are racing to sell them the seatbelts before the crashes define the category. [cites: 1792622958726976147, 1792602905572654453, 1792585795245940733, 1792598515718687974]

## What is still unresolved

- Patch availability and remediation timeline for PHP2Shell beyond the PHP security team's warning to prepare for a release.
- Whether independent exploitability of PHP2Shell in the wild matches the severity described on TBPN.
- SentinelOne's Singularity Credits pricing and partner adoption of the new delivery packages were not disclosed.

## Decision card

- **Useful for:** CISOs deploying AI agents at scale; Security vendors tracking agent-governance competition; Cloud buyers evaluating confidential computing options
- **Not for:** Readers seeking exploit details or remediation how-tos; End users of consumer AI products
- **Compare against:** Wiz vs SentinelOne agent-security positioning; NVIDIA confidential computing vs cloud-native confidential VMs
