The Saints opted to travel to the game location earlier than Pittsburgh. [cites: 1792522793167794729] - The Saints-PSG partnership includes an exclusive Fanatics merchandise collection with limited-edition jerseys playing on the shared fleur-de-lis, youth football programming, a Soul Rebels music collaboration, and Saints players attending PSG's Champions League match against Barcelona. The collection goes on sale the week of Oct. 20; NFL House in Paris opened Oct. 19. [cites: 1792515442956832431] - The Steelers arrive 4-2 after a 26-19 overtime win against Tampa Bay, with Chris Boswell now the franchise's all-time leading field-goal kicker. [cites: 1792523174266561554, 1792522793167794729] ## First regular-season game on French soil The NFL is about to do something it has never done: play a regular-season game in France. The Pittsburgh Steelers and New Orleans Saints meet at Stade de France in Paris in Week 7, and the league is treating it as a milestone rather than a novelty. The game airs on NFL Network, with Steelers audio coverage beginning at 9:30 a.m. ET — a morning kickoff that tells you everything about whose sleep schedule is being protected. [cites: 1792515442956832431, 1792512847376928534] The infrastructure is already in place. The Saints celebrated the opening of NFL House in Paris on Oct. 19, a day before the week's news cycle began — the league is not parachuting in for this one so much as moving in. [cites: 1792515442956832431] ## Two different travel philosophies The teams are handling the logistics in opposite ways. Steelers head coach Mike McCarthy is keeping the standard weekly routine despite the international travel, holding normal Wednesday and Thursday practices at the home facility before the team departs Thursday. The Saints, by contrast, opted to travel to the game location earlier than Pittsburgh — the get-there-early-and-acclimate approach versus the disrupt-nothing approach. Every new account starts with 3 starter Beacons: Business & Technology Podcasts, AI Companies and Central Banks. [See Beacons](https://synorb.com/connect) McCarthy has never coached an international game during his time in Dallas, so this is new territory for him personally. His defensive coordinator, Patrick Graham, has been through three international games in his coaching career — the one staffer who has done this before. [cites: 1792522793167794729] Pittsburgh arrives with momentum. The Steelers are 4-2 after a 26-19 overtime win against Tampa Bay, sealed by Jeremy Bernard's six-yard touchdown in the extra period. Chris Boswell is now the franchise's all-time leading field-goal kicker after passing Gary Anderson — he kicked a 58-yarder twice in one sequence against the Bucs. And the defense travels well on paper: it has held two consecutive opponents, both averaging over 80 rushing yards a game, to 45 yards each. The secondary is producing too: Jamel Dean recorded his first interception as a Steeler against Tampa Bay, and Jalen Ramsey posted two sacks, four tackles for loss, and ten total tackles. Rookie receiver Jeremy Bernard, who scored the overtime winner, has 17 receptions for 167 yards and his first career touchdown over the last two games — and Aaron Rodgers is developing a real rapport with him. [cites: 1792523174266561554, 1792522793167794729] ## The Saints went all-in on Paris New Orleans is not just playing in Paris; it is courting Paris. Ahead of the game, the Saints and Saint-Germain announced a partnership built on the cities' shared symbolism. There is an exclusive merchandise collection developed with Fanatics, featuring limited-edition jerseys and apparel that play on the fleur-de-lis — significant in both New Orleans and French culture. The collection goes on sale through official PSG retail channels the week of Oct. 20. [cites: 1792515442956832431] The partnership goes deeper than apparel. The clubs will run youth football programming locally, and the cultural layer includes an original musical creation in collaboration with the Soul Rebels, plus a handcrafted jersey designed with a French upcycling workshop that comes with a tote bag and vinyl release. Saints players will attend PSG's Champions League match against Barcelona. Whether any of this moves the needle on the field is beside the point — the Saints are building a brand beachhead in France, and the first regular-season game on French soil is the ribbon-cutting.
